As the rollercoaster of 2020 comes to a close, it’s time to think about making the year of 2021 far better than the last. One great way to do just that is with an epic summer job sure to bring adventure, new friendships, travel and a lifetime of memories.
Teen Treks is looking for outgoing individuals to be Bike Tour Leaders for the summer of 2021. If you love being around teens and are eager to travel in beautiful parts of the country by bicycle- a summer with Teen Treks might be the perfect fit for you.
Here’s some of the best things about being a leader for Teen Treks:
- Leadership training is a great way to meet like-minded young adults who also enjoy spending time outdoors, are passionate about seeing the world, are fun to be around, and are leaders and innovators in their own schools and communities. These are the kind of people you find yourself taking bike tours or other adventures with long after leadership training.
- Being on a bike tour offers transferable skills in the outdoor world. Leaders learn to manage small groups, enhance group dynamics, problem solve with often primitive options, navigate through new territories-sometimes a new country, gain travel insights from the locals and manage resources through a trip duration, plus they gain skills in roadside bike mechanics. You will come away from a summer with Teen Treks more equipped to work in the outdoor, travel and bike industry.
- Leaders get to hang out with fun, hilarious, adventurous teenagers. Some days you will be physically and emotionally exhausted, and your day will completely turn around because of the teens on your trip. Whether it’s a good conversation over the campfire, a hilarious incident within the group, or seeing one of your trekkers become a stronger biker by the end of the trip- the bonds leaders form with their trekkers is often what makes leading with Teen Treks rewarding.
- You’re basically on a paid vacation. With trip options like Pacific Northwest, Maine Coast, New England Shore, California Coast, Amsterdam to Paris and Lake Ontario, where else can you find a summer job that allows you to discover beautiful locations from the seat of a bicycle?
Our goal is that our leader’s passion for seeing the world and being on a bicycle will inspire the next generation to enjoy the wonders of adventuring too!
