Across America Bikes into the “Spud-like” Hills of Idaho

Today we crossed the border into the potato-like hills of Idaho. Sluggish starts and a mysterious thorny plant set the early tone for our ride, giving us a baker’s dozen of flat tires to fix, holding us back for hours… but the team came together to help one another and clock a respectable 62 miles, ending at Lenore Rest Area. Highlights of the day include our first clouds in days, a long downhill descent, chess from Noah’s homemade set, three-cheese mac ‘n cheese for dinner, and the feeling of accomplishment that comes with knowing we stuck to our guns and went the distance. Tomorrow we’ll speed further into the spud, enjoying the ride from starch to finish.
