“Well, well, well. We woke up at 6:30 to get bagels where Alex immediately tore the bag. Next we met 5 of the Trekkers in Bryant park, hopped on the train to Tarrytown, met the remaining 4 Trekkers, then went and had the BEST (average) bagels of our lives for lunch at a park! Played games, intro, rules, training, and soccer! All was swell but some rough terrain, hills, and bikes. We went swimming in the Hudson at Croton Point beach and had some epic log-boat battles. Leo and company cheffed up some amazing carbonara and now we are off to bed!”

Last full day for Cape Cod Trekkers, New England Shore Trekkers continue on to NYC.

Today was the last day for Aidan, Nolan, Jesse and Ethan as the Cape Cod Trek ends. We woke up and had breakfast then left and went to CVS, then Dunkin’ Donuts. Big Max showed us his secret handshake which was cool. We rode another couple miles to Stop n Shop and had lunch. We then rode the last couple miles to Providence in Rhode island. Our map was wonky and made us go many loops around the same block until we finally found our Marriott. We settled in, then walked around the town. We went to a thrift shop where some of us bought clothes, then we went to an antique store with many really strange and cool items and clothes. We then went to buy pizza, and ate for a while then went to Trader Joe’s and got ice cream sandwiches. We walked along a bridge, took some dance lessons, played chess with a random guy, played with a person’s dog, and saw a kids kpop group, called okaze. Aidan, little max, Nolan and Jesse watched Avatar the last airbender to go to bed. A great last day

Hills and Thrills Along NES/Cape Cod Trek

We started the morning with a 10 mile ride to a bridge that was really super duper high up, it was very beautiful. We got to relax on the grass and eat donuts after the bridge officially ending the Cape Cod part of our journey . Then we finished the ride by going to Stop-N-Shop and ate way too much pudding before arriving at the camp site where we ate nachos for dinner. Then Ethan (me) and Ammi swam across a lake to climb a rock then jumped off, while the others swam close to shore. We then relaxed at camp to end the night.

We started by waking up in a hostel in Martha’s Vineyard and packing up our stuff. We set out and biked 8 miles to the ferry. At that point, little Max realized that he left his clothes at the hostel and big Max had to go back and get them. We got on a very slow ferry and made our way to Sandwich, Massachusetts. There we had to bike 20 miles to a State Forest and we biked down the river with those cool bridges. We all made it to the Shawne Crowell State Forest and set up camp. The leaders and I biked to the Stop-N-Shop to get dinner food to cook. We made mac and cheese with chicken and ate ice cream. Then hanged out played games by the fires.

Today we started the day by going to the laundromat. Then the group had a massive breakfast of pancakes and waffles. We then set out for Edgarville where we walked around the town. I offered people Cheerios and only nine people voluntarily took a hand full. We also opened Pokémon cards where we got a diglit, which was epic. then we went to the Jaws bridge and jumped off a lot into the ocean. After we looked for oysters. Later at Oakville,  Max, Grace and I got matching shirts that were too small. We went to a concert where the band was filled with people that could have been my grandparents but it was quite fun. During the music we climbed a tree and played an intense game of duck duck goose.  After along day a lot of us made huge mugs of hot chocolate which was fulfilling.

That was a fun day! The day started with a normal wake up call from Max and Grace.  We then went to retrieve our food which was being held in a fellow campers car. You may be wondering why we would need to protect our food, one word. Squirrels. We then ate a quick breakfast, packed up our tents and bedding, and got our bikes ready to go. We rode about 14 miles to a grocery store and got some lunch, and played with some shopping carts. We stopped at Dunkin’ to get a sweet treat, then continued for another 10 miles along the Cape Cod Rail Trail and arrived at the ferry port. We took a one hour boat ride to Martha’s Vineyard and biked another 13 miles to our hostel. We settled in, then went out to eat! We decided on the Plane View restaurant at the MV airport. We had a nice dinner, and biked back. Finally we finished off the day with some desert and games.

Day-4 or 5 (Rest Day)

We woke up at around 8:00 and ate oatmeal and cereal. We got on our bikes to go to Crosby Beach. The water was cold but we had fun playing football and rugby before the tide came in. After a few hours and a big lunch, we biked to Flax Lake which was much warmer. We rented paddle boards and kayaks to paddle out into the lake. Some people didn’t use swimwear and had to bike in wet clothes. When we got back, we ate delicious Pad Thai and Ethan, Zach, and I biked to the store for firewood. We started a campfire for s’mores and ate delicious dessert. We had a great day and made great memories.

Total mileage: 12 miles

Total elevation: A lot

During the ride we faced a bunch of bike problems that were quickly fixed. We then stoped in Wellsfleet for a couple of hours to play games and explore the area. Then moved on for the last 16 miles to the camping spot. When we got to the camp spot we trekked threw mud, sand, rocks and tree branches. Then we were finally there and we set up our tents and cooked dinner. We had rice, chicken, beans and tomatoes. When we finished dinner  we had Chips Ahoy.  Then we went to bed.

NE Shore/Cape Cod Trekkers Explore Provincetown

Today we woke up early and had bagels and Honey Nut Cheerios. Then we started out day by going to bike shop and getting people stuff checked then we made our way towards the trail that would take us to the beach. The landscape was very beautiful due to the sand dunes and wildlife. While at the beach, multiple seals stopped by to say hello to everyone and after that we played catch and built sand castles. After all of that, we made our way back to the trail which was also very beautiful except this time the landscape was different because of the numerous marshes and plant life. Then we made our way into town where we split into groups and walked around finding things to do. Eventually we were on our way to the pier where we made the decision to jump off multiple times with a nice crowd supporting us. After that we went off to the huge peninsula where  some of us stopped mid way to explore the water and others went down to the end of the rocks. But me and a few others went to the other side and found huge crabs buried in mud holes they had made. After that, we went to the super market and bought dinner and got ice cream that we ate on the spot. Finally after all that we went back the campsite and had pasta for dinner.
