Terms & Conditions of Registration
Registration & Payment Schedule:
- All registrations require a completed application, a $30 non-refundable application fee, and a $600 deposit ($1000 for Europe & Across America Treks). Please register early to guarantee a place on your preferred trip.
- Full payment is due by May 1, 2025. New registrations after that date must be paid in full within 2 weeks. Late payments require a 15% surcharge.
Cancellations & Refunds:
- The full payment will be refunded if your preferred Trek is full and/or unavailable.
- Registration cancellations will be refunded 75% of trip cost before April 30, 2025.
- After April 30, 2025 there are no refunds whatsoever. This includes, but is not limited to, withdrawing voluntarily, summer school, illness/ injury before or during the trip, poor behavior, or any other reason. We highly encourage purchasing camp insurance through TravMark.com. It is a very reasonable 4% of trip cost. For more information visit https://www.aplusplans.com/.
Safety and Liability:
I, the undersigned, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, waive and release any and all claims for damages, death, personal injury or loss of property I may have, or which may accrue to me as a result of my participation in this Teen Treks trip. I, the undersigned, discharge and release Teen Treks, Inc. their officers, agents, and employees from all liability arising out of or connected in any way with my participation in this trip, whether caused by the negligence of any of the above parties. I acknowledge that the Teen Treks trip contains risks, including falling, collision with other bicyclists, motor vehicles, or stationary objects, the effects of extreme weather conditions, and the conditions of the road, including potholes, pinch points, sand, gravel, and other hazards. I understand that although all swimming will be supervised by counselors, swimming is at participant’s own risk, as their counselors may not be certified life guards. My participation is voluntary and done at my own risk. I voluntarily assume all risks of loss, damage or injury that may be sustained while participating in this Teen Treks trip. I attest that the equipment that I will use in this Teen Treks trip is in good mechanical condition. I understand that BICYCLE HELMETS CAN PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY and agree to wear it at all times I am on a bicycle.
Communication:
Teen Treks provides an opportunity for your son/daughter to strengthen their independence and self-reliance. While participants will call home at least once per week during their Trek using their Trip Leader’s mobile phones, participants cannot carry their own phones (or any electronic devices) during a Trek. If parents desire their teen to carry a phone because they are traveling alone before or after the trip (by air, train, or bus) Teen Treks recommends that it be an inexpensive pre-paid phone. Teen Treks is not responsible for any damages or the loss of a phone.
Conduct & Dismissal:
I understand that Teen Treks reserves the right to dismiss a trip participant if a Trip Leader finds the participant’s behavior or action to be detrimental to the group and/or the good name of Teen Treks. Participant will be dismissed and no refunds will be issued if trip participant is in possession of illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, alcohol, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, chewing tobacco, and incendiary/explosive materials or performs unsafe cycling, negative and/or disruptive behavior, hitchhiking, or unwilling to share in group responsibilities.
I hereby grant full permission to Teen Treks to use photographs and videotapes of this event for any legitimate purpose.
Teen Treks reserves the right to modify and cancel trips depending on registration and availability of leaders (full refunds will be issued).
I do give Teen Treks permission to use my name and phone number as a reference.
