GAP Trekkers Enjoying Bike Trail Lifestyle

Day 3: After our first night camping, we challenged the kids with a 35 mile dash on the trail in order to avoid an incoming thunderstorm. This dash was led by Kai and Jason while Noah kept our morale up and Cooper kept us safe by making sure we were all hydrated, had our lights on, and were eating etc. The trail itself was simply beautiful with dense, green forests and serene rivers flanking us on either side. Halfway through the ride, we stopped at the shop a lady yesterday had referred to us. The owner there sold us some Powerade and some of the best ice cream sandwiches we’ve had in our lives, which we ate while playing with his dog Luce. Due to us focusing on taking only necessary stops and good leading by the points, we arrived at Connellsville with time to spare before the rain showed up. While the rain passed we took the time to have a proper lunch and talk amongst ourselves. After, while the some of the kids arm wrestled, others found out that our neighbors in the camp were a family of 4 who were with us in the Dravo campgrounds yesterday and are on a route similar to ours. At the end of the day everyone was rewarded with takeout dinner and we went to sleep early in preparation for our big day tomorrow. We’re all looking forward to tomorrow’s whitewater rafting as well as some well deserved showers.
