Amsterdam-Paris Trekkers Get a Surprise Break From the Wind and Rain With a Night in a Castle

After our tents began to leak in the rain last night, we moved inside to the uncomfortable floor of the laundry room at the campsite. We had a difficult morning as we were biking straight into the wind over a huge land bridge connecting two islands. Then we stopped in a small town called Brugh and had a huge lunch and got to rest for an hour while Jamie and Lis planned out the rest of our day. Our morale was low because we were expecting another long windy ride in the afternoon but we were pleasantly surprised when the bridge we went over barely had any wind. When we got to the end of the second bridge we stopped for a while for ice cream and got to relax. Then we set off. As we were riding to where we thought we would be camping, we passed a castle that had been turned into a hostel, and Jamie and Lis pulled over and surprised us with the news that we would be staying at the castle instead of camping. We were all so happy not to have to spend another night in a cold wet tent. After getting settled we went out to dinner at a delicious pancake restaurant near the castle and finished off our day well.
